Proto handpin based on the head of a handpin found in Northumberland.
They are described as "proto Handpins" because their ringed head, resembles and predates the later "Handpins".
This one is thought to date from 300 to 500 AD.
As it was only the head of the pin that was found i've had to guess at the lenth.
I've made it a total length of 15cm.
The original is silver. I am making them in Bronze, Silver and silver plated bronze.
