A late Saxon, tin plated bronze disc brooch from the Ashmolean museum. 10th to early 11thc.
A lower class version of the large silver disc brooches of the Saxons. The brooch features a badly alligned, quartered design with engraved, interlaced animals in the quarters.
6cm diameter of disc. Available in Tin plated bronze (as original) and plain bronze.
