A chunky little keystone brooch from Kent from the 6th / 7th century. The brooch features a deeply engraved and stamped border around the red, resin cells that represent the garnets of the original. The central disc is made from mother of pearl and also has a red, resin centre.
Made from gilded and silvered bronze. 3cm diameter
